Free online exercise classes with Active Northumberland

Active Northumberland sports centres across the county are now closed for the lockdown, in line with government guidance - but don’t put your feet up just yet as their fitness instructors will be running free online classes to keep you moving and your spirits raised.

Instructors will be delivering a mixture of live classes suitable for all abilities including those members who are currently attending the Exercise on Referral program. These will be available through the Active Northumberland Facebook (Facebook.com/ActiveNLand) and You Tube channels.

Meanwhile, Active Northumberland members have been sent an email this week to explain what is happening with their membership payments.   All Direct Debits will be frozen for the month of November. This will include Swimming lessons and therefore you don’t need to take any further action.

All members who have paid in advance for their membership will have their membership extended for one month beyond the current expiration date of their membership.

Pay as you go customers who have paid for a class or activity in advance eg Clip 'n Climb or fitness classes will have their online Active Northumberland account automatically credited

Mark Warnes, Acting Chief Executive of Active Northumberland said:
“We appreciate this is a really difficult time for everyone and we know how important exercise is to so many people, for both their physical and mental health.

Despite our facilities being closed we believe it is really important that we support local residents during this time

We have a bank of free online exercise classes on our You Tube channel and some of our instructors will be delivering a mixture of live classes suitable for all abilities, including those members who are currently attending our Exercise on Referral program.

I’d also like to thank everyone for the support and lovely feedback they have given to the Active Northumberland team This has been such a challenging time for everyone, but we will get through it together and we look forward to opening the doors to our centres again in the very near future.”
